An opportunity has arisen for athletes who are keen to compete in European G ranked competitions in March/April 2017.

We have a number of member clubs who are attending the Belgian, Dutch and Spanish open championships.  Some coaches have kindly offered to assist athletes who may wish to compete, but their club will not be attending.  As you know, per our selection policies, it is an expectation of all selected athletes need to attend Australian Taekwondo camps and an international competition in 2017 prior to the World Championships.

If you are interested in the opportunity to compete in these European events, please contact ceo@austkd.com.au and we can put you in touch with the Coaches.

We are currently working through our nomination policy which is required to be approved by Australian University Sport.  Once this process is complete we will publish the details.

International Referee Seminars

The next International Referee Seminar will be held in Tehran, Iran from 2–10 March 2017.

To ensure that we have clear pathways, and are encouraging our competent and ambitious referees, the National Kyorugi Referee Committee has developed a policy and process for referees to attend the IR courses. The document is available HERE.

If you are interested in attending, forms can be obtained from referee@austkd.com.au.

Use of AT Logo and Australian Coat of Arms

We are in the process of developing a series of guidelines on the correct and permissible use of the Australian Taekwondo logos to ensure marketing consistency and protection of our brand name.

We would also like to point out that the use of the Australian Coat of Arms (CoA) is controlled by legislation and administered by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Use of the CoA without proper permission is in breach of several acts, including Competition and Consumer, Trade Marks and Criminal Code acts.

In regard to the CoA being used by sporting organisations, these are limited to National Sports Organisations, such as Australian Taekwondo, through the Australian Sports Commission, and then only applicable to official Australian Teams competing at international events.

AT member clubs must not use the CoA by including it for teams that they send to international competitions, and AT cannot apply on their behalf to the ASC for such permission as these would not qualify under the Commonwealth Guidelines.
